"The Lion and His Host"
This painting began as a painting of wheat- the harvest of the souls- and evolved into an image of the Host of Heaven with their Lord who is the Lion of Judah. There is kind of a nifty back story… The stylized lion face is actually borrowed from a prophetic image I got for my friend Michael. He later morphed it around into a tattoo design. In the process of painting- after the field of wheat became transformed inot the heavenly host- I knew that it was missing the lion face. Moreover it was specifically THAT tribal-style lion that the painting needed. After all “He’s not a tame lion, but he’s good”. –C.S.Lewis
